Fearless (Day 3) Week 3

"And Benaiah the son Jehoiada was a valiant man of kabzeel, a doer of great deeds.  He struck down two ariels of Moab.  He also went down and struck down a lion in a pit on a day when snow had fallen." 2 Samuel 23:20

Benaiah possessed a boldness that we can all learn from.   He didn't see this lion as something to run away from.  He didn't see it as an overpowering obstacle.  I believe he saw this lion as an opportunity to chase his fears.  He boldly grabbed this lion by the mane and struck it down.

We all have lions in our lives that stare us down.  Sadly too many Christians are running away from their lions.  They passively allow their lions to dictate the course of their lives.  But that doesn't have to be you.  Through the power of the Holy Spirit flowing through your life, you can boldly face your lions and strike them down.  No longer cowering in fear.  But living with a boldness that is found in the Lord.

"We can cower in fear and run away from our greatest challenges.  Or we can chase our God- ordained destiny by seizing the God-ordained opportunity."  Mark Batterson

Lord, give us the courage and the boldness to be the people you have called us to be.
