Fearless Week 4 (Day 4)

Day 4 -
Then Jesus said to all the people:
If any of you want to be my followers, you must forget about yourself. You must take up your cross each day and follow me. (Luke 9:23 CEV)

There can be much fear associated with becoming a fully devoted follower of Jesus. Because you will not live like the average church-goer in America. Putting self behind and Jesus first will bring persecution from those who say they are believers. You will be accused of being radical (which I take as a compliment), and those in your family and circle of friends will question your choices. This constant pressure and resistance can produce the fear of being rejected and constantly criticized. Can I encourage you? Take up the cross anyway and trust that following Jesus will lead to a life that makes a difference.

"Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 5:10 ESV)

But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, (Matthew 5:44 ESV)

Think... In what environments are you persecuted for you fully devoted lifestyle?

Pray....
